Brick Master Material

Here is a material study of stone and stone bricks. My main points of inspiration were Irish Famine Walls and Antique Bricks. In order to achieve believable construction, I created a three layer vertex paint, allowing me to have an external cover for the stone, and a grout layer on top of the base rocks. I also used a new method of tiling control, as I detail in the end of the breakdown.
My goals were to improve my ability to make high detail textures, as well as figure out ways around issues with tiling, and I believe I've succeeded in both.

The environments used in my demo were Quixel's Unfinished Building (https://www.fab.com/listings/25f2e7e5-5cca-48a5-99a3-35c38b8240ac) and Old Mine (https://www.fab.com/listings/dc4dc139-f3a3-4375-875f-d1831506953e)
